New Faculty Bring Energy and a Collaborative Spirit to Northwestern
Faculty with sustainability and energy interest join Northwestern University this fall
ISEN is pleased to announce that Michelle Carr, the Illinois state director at The Nature Conservancy, has joined the Executive Council. Carr is leading efforts to advance freshwater, grassland and urban conservation initiatives at The Nature Conservancy. Additionally, she is working closely with conservation staff and partners to build an urban conservation strategy in the City of Chicago. These efforts will influence the Conservancy’s conservation strategies at a global scale.
“ISEN represents an ideal partner for The Nature Conservancy, particularly with respect to our urban conservation efforts in the Chicago area,” said Carr. “I’m pleased to join the Executive Council and to lend our support to ISEN, and I look forward to sharing expertise across our organizations.”
Prior to her position at The Nature Conservancy, Carr was an advisor in the investment management division at Goldman Sachs, where her clients included entrepreneurs, chief executive officers, families, foundations and endowments. This experience will help the Conservancy bridge the gap between conservation and economic decisions.
ISEN’s Executive Council consists of professionals in industries such as finance, law, and technology, who are experts in sustainability and renewable energy. Council members bring financial resources to ISEN and advise the leadership team and decision-makers at Northwestern University on industry trends and policy.
