Managing Director at Morgan Stanley
Eric Kanter is a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley and is based in New York. Mr. Kanter joined Morgan Stanley in 2003 and has been a member of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (“MSCP”), the firm’s private equity investing effort, since 2007. Mr. Kanter leads MSCP’s industrial investing effort focusing on packaging, infrastructure / environmental services and industrial technology. He serves on the board of directors of Comar, AWT Labels & Packaging, Alliance Technical Group, Apex Companies, Resource Innovations and previously served on the board of directors of PPC Flexible Packaging and Tops Markets. Mr. Kanter serves as a member of the MSCP Investment Committee.
Previously, Mr. Kanter was a Vice President in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Kanter was an Associate at Ryan Enterprises Group, the private equity firm for the Patrick G. Ryan family. He began his career as a Management Consultant at A.T. Kearney. Mr. Kanter holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Summit, NJ with his wife Samantha and children Lilly (17), Ari (14) and Gabe (8).
