Services
REACT provides a range of instrumentation and services for catalysis research. All instrumentation and services are available to Northwestern students, students of outside universities, and industrial researchers. If you have any questions or comments about the core’s capabilities, are interested in using the lab's equipment, or would like more details about rates, please email REACT Operations Director Neil Schweitzer at neil.schweitzer@northwestern.edu for more information.

Description |
Agilent 6850/5975 GC/MS | Online GC/MS system ideal for analyzing small molecule gas mixtures. Situated next to a small gas volume circulating system, this analytical is ideal for isotope experiments. |
Agilent 1200 HPLC System | Fully mobile HPLC system equipped with pumping module, column module, diode array detector (DAD), and refractive index detector (RID). Equipped with an online liquid sampling valve, this system is well suited for liquid analysis from reactor effluent. it does not use an autosampler and is not well suited for vial analysis. |
Agilent 3000A microGC System
Agilent 7890A GC-FID/TCD | Fully mobile GC FID/TCD system well suited for online gas analysis. Not suited for injections. |
Parr 4590 micro benchtop autoclave system | REACT houses three 4590 micro bench top autoclave Parr reactors rated up to 350°C and 200 bar. The reactor is accompanied by a 4848 control box that is used to control the reactor temperature, control the magnetic stirrer speed, and precisely measure the pressure. Additionally, the reactor is accompanied by a custom built, gas manifold system, which allows the introduction of three separate gases. The headspace gas can be sampled and analyzed on the GC. |
Agilent 6890/5975 GC/MS | Standalone GC/MS measurement intended to analyze liquid injections. |
SRS QMS atmospheric Sampling MS
Varian 3600 GC-FID | Fully mobile GC FID system well suited for online gas analysis. Not suited for injections. |
Nicolet 6700 FTIR |
